Introduction
This guide provides instructions on how to unlink your HashiCorp Cloud Platform (HCP) account from your HCP Terraform account. This process can help resolve login issues, such as being unable to see your organizations, experiencing Single Sign-On (SSO) failures, or getting stuck in a login loop.
Expected Outcome
After following these steps, you will successfully unlink the accounts and be able to log in to HCP Terraform directly using your username and password.
Prerequisites
- Access to your HCP Terraform account credentials.
Procedure
Follow these steps to unlink your HCP and HCP Terraform accounts.
- Open a new private or incognito browser window to ensure a clean session.
- Navigate to the HCP Terraform login portal.
- Log in to your account. The portal will automatically detect the linked HCP account and may prompt you to log in through HCP. Proceed with the login to access your account settings.
- Click on your profile avatar in the top right corner and select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
- In the settings menu, navigate to the HCP Account Linking tab.
-
Click the Unlink Account button.
Outcome
After you click Unlink Account, the system will log you out and redirect you to the HCP Terraform login page. You can now log in directly with your HCP Terraform username or email and password, independent of your HCP account.
