Problem
Updating a workspace's version control setting and changing the VCS branch of a workspace produces an error:

Cause
A bug in TFE v202309-1 is causing the error.
Workaround
- Refresh the page from the browser for the error to disappear
Solutions:

Upgrade TFE to the October release v202310-1
Outcome
When switching the branch, the error will not get triggered anymore.
