How-to View Speculative Plans only in HCP Terraform UI Run List

Use Case

In HCP Terraform, speculative plans are plan-only runs and cannot be applied. Due to a recent HCP Terraform update, speculative plans are now included within the HCP Terraform UI workspace run list. This list now contains all recent runs mixed with speculative plans. To review a list of only speculative plans, follow the procedure below. 

Procedure

Navigate to your workspace and the run list. Use the filter by choosing plan only under the Operation heading. This will show speculative plans only in the Run list.

• Access the workspace within HCP Terraform. it is usually https://app.terraform.io. 

• Access the workspace Run List.

• The headers under theRun List title will contain an Operation filter by option.

• Click on Operation and select filter by Plan Only from the dropdown then press Apply.

• TheRun List should now contain plan only runs.
