HCP Terraform Operator for Kubernetes Agent Pool Autoscaling Requirements for Workspace Runs

Introduction

Agent pools in HCP Terraform manage the execution environment for Terraform runs. The HCP Terraform Operator for Kubernetes allows you to create and manage agent pools as part of your Kubernetes infrastructure. Users can define agent pool autoscaling by configuring AgentDeploymentAutoscaling to scale the deployment for an Agent Pool up and down to meet demand. There are requirements for autoscaling to take effect. Minimum requirements will be listed here in this article.

Requirements

• View all workspaces permission must be granted to the team that is also granted Manage agent pools.
• Agent execution mode must be explicitly configured at the workspace level due to the agent pool spec, targetWorkspaces, has been deprecated since version 2.9.0 and will be removed in future versions.
• Define minReplicas and maxReplicas in the AgentDeploymentAutoscaling field.
